Select Top 10 Lists of 2015 by a Dozen Musicians & Music Journalists

On New Year's Day, I asked some dozen musicians and journalists to contribute a Top 10 Recommended Disc List of 2015. I said that categorizes and format were unimportant and that your choice could also be a reissue or historic recording. I also mentioned that they could give three honorable mentions which could also include books or films or anything someone wanted to recommend. As you can see, each list is very different and informative in different ways. The contributors are listed in alphabetical order by last name, except that I put myself last, since my list is a little longer. Thanks to everyone who contributed. Please take your time in reading these, it will be well worth it since everyone here is a serious listener. - BLG

BLG Section:

When I work on my year end list, I go through all 52 weekly newsletters and compile some dozen smaller lists (main list, reissues & historic discs, obscure, vocal, etc.). I also try to relisten to certain records and search for discs that I had forgotten about. This is a long process that I am still working on and never really ends. The original/main list has more than 500 items on it so boiling it down to 25 isn't that simple. But here goes:

BRUCE LEE GALLANTER's 25 Favorite/Recommended Discs of 2015 in alphabetical order:

Up until the mid-nineties, it was not hard for me to come up with a 100 vocal/rock/roots discs that I dug every year. Things have obviously changed for me since I get few vocal promos and have to do my own research to find out about new bands/singers and new recordings. This year, I could barely put together my own Top 10 Vocal Records. I do read some magazines like Mojo, Shindig, the Big Takeover, Ugly Things and even the Wire to stay informed.

Bruce's Top 10+2 Vocal Discs in No Particular Order Except Robert Wyatt Remains First!
