DC progressive/jazz/rock quartet THE MUFFINS will play an ultra-rare reunion
concert at the Knit this Saturday July 15th at 8pm for one set only! THE
MUFFINS have not played in NY in 20 years and their sound is quite Canterbury-ish,
somewhere between Hatfield & Henry Cow. They have three marvelous cds
in print on the Cuneiform label and worked with Fred Frith on his 'Gravity'

MASADA were just added to the Tonic calender for one night next week on
Wednesday July 19th for two sets!! This gig will celebrate the release
of the next MASADA LIVE cd due here at DMG on Friday July 21st! Masada
only play a few times per year & they rule live!!!!!
Schedule change: Cibo Matto presents John Zorn's "Hip Hop" Cobra
Due to circumstances beyond anyone's control, this show has been cancelled
at the Brooklyn Bridge Anchorage on 7/21, but will take place instead at
Tonic (107 Norfolk St., Manhattan) on Monday night 7/24.
John Zorn will be conducting a special HIP HOP version of his game-piece
Cobra with Cibo Matto members Yuka Honda, Miho Hatori, Timo Ellis, Sean
Lennon and Duma Love, plus Sebastian Steinberg of Soul Coughing and very
special rap & dj guests, all conducted by John Zorn. Other festivities:
dj by Miho, films by Yoko Ono.
