Pre-Newsletter 42 additions
& subtractions
Greetings to all who read this,
Just a couple of additions & delays
from the recent pre-newsletter. The great Dave Brubeck tribute on Avant
(produced by Zorn) has been postponed until March 14th, but DMG may still
get them a bit earlier. Both the Sonny Fortune tribute to Coltrane on Shanachie
(on its way) & Pauline Oliveros' 'Primordial...' on Table of the Elements
(who knows when) have also been delayed. The new GONG reunion cd 'Zero
to Infinity', as well as Bill Laswell's 'Hear No Evil' reissue might actually
show up by 2/22, but I am not going to hold my breath, since it is coming
from my least favorite knuckleheaded distributor - DNA. Here are a few
additions which have come in (or are about to) since you received since
the pre-newsletter last week:
1.WAYNE HORVITZ & ZONY MASH-Upper
Egypt (KFW 259) 3rd cd & more slow-burn, groove infested organ &
el. guitar qt. soulfulness - great Pharoah cover! $13.

028) Wow! Slowly becoming one of the best local avant/jazz units, great
playing & composing!! $14.

scary... two cd set for $26.

Leonid Soybelman from Ne Zhdali w/ Andy (the Ex) & Tony Buck (Peril)

5.SOFT MACHINE-Live 1970 (Blueprint 290)
from two rare gigs in Europe with Elton Dean missing on two tracks w/ bad
sound that gets better - material from 2nd & 3rd - still historic &
pretty great! $14.
