1.ANTHONY BRAXTON QUINTET-[Basel] 1977 (Hatology 545) Featuring Muhal Richard Abrams, George Lewis, Mark Helias, Charles "Bobo" Shaw and Mr. Braxton on reeds. Supposedly a rare reissue, but I can't recall the original. Sale price of $15.

2.FRANZ KOGLMANN-"O Moon My Pin-Up" (Hatology 566) With Phil Minton on voice, Barre Phillips on contrabass, Tony Coe on reeds, Mr. Koglmann on trumpet, flugelhorn and conception, plus large ensemble and chorus. New sale price of $15.

3.JOE McPHEE QUINTET-Common Threads (Deep Listening 2000) Featuring Eyvind Kang, Stuart Dempster, Michael Bisio and Joe McPhee. $14.

4.TERRITORY BAND TENTET-TransAtlanticBridge (Okkadisc 12040) Featuring Ken Vandermark, Axel Dorner, Paul Lytton, Jeb Bishop, Fred Longberg-Holm, Jim Baker, Kent Kessler, Tim Mulvenna and Dave Rempis. Looks great. $14.

5.THEO JORGENSMANN & ECKHARD KOLTERMAN-Pagine Gialle (Hatology 553) Theo plays guitar and Eckhard plays bass clarinet. You can tell me if you know more about these two. $15.

6.NAZCA-self titled (self released) Outstanding and legendary Mexican progressive band who were highly influenced by Henry Cow and whose first album was once released by Recommended Records. Former member Carlos Nicolau eventually moved to NYC and joined the sadly unrecorded prog band Devil's Breakfast. Second cd out soon. $15.

7.ARTI & MESTERI-Tilt (Akarma 1024) Great Italian progressive/fusion band from 1974 who were influenced by PFM, Mahavishnu Orchestra, King Crimson and Soft Machine!! Originally released on the essential Cramps label. $15.

8.EMBRYO-we keep on (Disconforme 1936) Formed in 1969 by German ethnic/exotic percussionist Christian Burchard formerly of Amon Duul II. Embryo still exists today, some thirty years later. This was their fifth lp of their unique brand of space-avant-jazz-world-improv hipness from 1972. Roman Bunka played guitar and saz, Dieter Miekautsch played pianos and special guest Charlie Mariano - an American reeds hero. On sale for the next month for $10.

9.EMBRYO-Father Son and Holy Ghosts (Disconforme 1935) This time Christain & Edgar are joined by David King on bass & flute and Sigi Schwab on guitars, veena & tarang! A studio recording from March of 1972!! $10.

10.EMBRYO-Invisible Documents/Live at the "Fabrik" Hamburg 1974 (Disconforme 1031) Christian and Roman are now joined by Edgar Hofmann on soprano sax & violin and Norbert Domling on bass. Five long cosmic jams! Two cd set for $16.

11.EMRYO-Surfin' (Disconforme 1937) Charlie Mariano is now a regular member on soprano & alto saxes & nagasuram. More instruments added like sitar, mellotron, ring modulator and saz! From a 1974 studio recording. $10.

12.EMBRYO-Bad Heads and Bad Cats (Disconforme 1032) Same personnel as above with Maria Archer added on vocals. More groovy ethnic, psych, jazz, jamming etc. A studio recording from autumn '75. $10.,

JOHN CAGE: MAN AND MYTH This riveting 60-min. doumentary features a classic 1989 Cage interview - interlaced with enlightening visits by Cagean disciples Philip Glass, Glenn Branca, Allan Kaprow, Richard Kostelanetz, Jackson MacLow, Grete Sultan and Johnny Reinhard. Pianist Joshua Pierce displays Cage's 'prepared piano' and performs "Sonatas and Interludes." Cage percolates with zen theory, reads poetry, and plays electric cactus. (1990, 60 min.)

24. GINSBERG SINGS BLAKE: A vibrant neo-renaissance concert of a suite of ballads. Having spent over two decades on this monumental Blake project - to inject - or re-inject music to poet William Blake's classic 'Songs of Innocence' and 'Songs of Experience' poems. Ginsberg unleashes sheer chanting bliss, by way of singing, historiciznig and playing mini pump-organ. Ensemble trio blends fine harmonic vocals of singer-guitarist Steven Taylor and electric violin of Heather Hardy. (1990, 80 min.)

25. NY BEAT GENERATION, VOL.3 (MUSIC MOVES THE SPIRIT): An unforgettable 1994 Beat cabaret hosted by David Amram - an evening of jazz/poetry central to the Beat ethos. The Doors' Ray Manzarek and poet Michael McClure collaborate on Kerouac's 'Mexico City Blues'. Allen Ginsberg sings his jaunty 'Put Down That Cigarette Rag'. Amram and poet Ted Joans mount a sizzling bebop number dedicated to Bird. Writer Terry Southern performs a hypnotic prose poem. Charts the wild '50s NY jazz club explosion. (80 min.)
